Alarming Dropout rates found in New Dept. of Education Report

A new report released by the Department of Education found that 25% of high school students fail to graduate on time. For African Americans and Hispanics the percentage is about 40%. The report, "Public School Graduates and Dropouts From the Common Core of Data: School Year 2007–08: First Look" presents average freshman graduate rates (AFGR) by state. The state with the highest AFGR is Wisconsin at 89.6% while the state with the lowest AFGR is Nevada at 51.3%.
